Feature and Follow #5

This is one of my favorite meme's, hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read; not because of the followers, but because I love the awesome questions asked. Don't get me wrong followers are cool too, and I love to hear what everyone has to say, but I do love a challenge and often times I am challenged by the questions posed.

Q: What is the last book that made you cry? Tell us about the scene...

Okay folks, I know it is not actually Friday here in my part of the country, but I could not wait to share which book made me cry with all of you! I know it sounds weird, but I really want you all to know what book brought me to tears because of the sheer awesomeness that is this book. Now I am not usually a crier, in fact I can count the number of books that have brought me to tears on just over one hand; but the last two new books I read have both brought me to tears, and not the pretty one's either, with both books I was a blubbering fool, but when I first saw this question I was actually re-reading one of these books and took it as a sign that I needed to share this with everyone.

So without further rambling......the last book to make me cry was Release by M.R. Merrick. First, let me tell you that this book brought me to near tears countless times and caused me to physically put my kindle down in order to reign in my emotions at least once. However, the scene that made me blubber will not be the scene I share with you here (it is a rather spoilery scene) but take my word for it there is a scene in this book that will reduce you to a blubbering mess. But on to the scene that I did choose....

At one point in the book, Willy, Tiki and Chase are all in Chase's room, happens to be before some pretty big crap goes down, and they are having a heart to heart. Sharing with one another their fears, their hopes and leaning on each other for strength to help them get through the serious shite that is about to go down. Here is a little quote about one of my all time favorite characters:
"But regardless of how unsure of yourself you might be, you always do what's right. You stand beside your friends through everything, even when you shouldn't. You're brave and loyal, Willy. Those are two traits nothing in the world can replace" (kindle loc. 5812).

Just re-reading it makes me all misty....*sniffles* It may not make you misty reading it, but in context it will....either that or I am just a sap.

Okay seriously though, this book is awesome and I can't get enough, no matter how many tears I shed!

So have any books moved you to tears? I would love to hear about them!!

  1. I've heard nothing but amazing things about this series. I downloaded Exiled when it was free on Amazon and really need to find time to read it.

    1. Absolutely nothing is wrong with being a sap. My husband is always picking on me because I cry at every movie, but I don't cry over books that often.

  5. I have had M.R. Merrick's books on my kindle waiting to be read for so long now. Everyone seems to love them and I am planning on diving in when I'm on vacation in a few weeks. Can't wait, especially now that you mentioned tears being shed... Is that weird? :)

    1. Thanks everyone! Yes you all really should read Release, of course you should start at Exiled first as Release is the third in the series.

  8. Some of those deep and meaningful conversations between characters can be so painful to read, but also amazing. I sometimes have to put the book down not because I'm crying, but because I'm trying to wrap my head around the wise words they just said.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and following! I returned the favour by GFC
