No Prince Charming by Angel Payne & Victoria Blue {Cover Reveal}

Today I am excited to share the cover for a brand new series by authors Angel Payne and Victoria Blue! Check this puppy out!

Designed by Parajunkee

Blurb~
“Once upon a time, there was a girl who dressed up and went to a big party at the palace. There, she met a prince. They danced and fell in love…”
Damn good line. Too bad I don’t believe a word of it anymore.

My name is Claire Montgomery, and I’m not a princess. I’m a fighter. I worked hard to earn my place on the emergency image repair team for one of the biggest public relations companies in the country. We’ve been called to the renowned Chicago headquarters of Stone Global Corporation, where it’s our job to clean up a heap of the Stone family’s filthiest laundry. Our success will be the biggest victory of my career. I’m on my game. I’m ready.

Why doesn’t “ready” include a contingency plan for Killian Stone?

My name is Killian Stone. They call me the “enigma of Miracle Mile,” and that’s the way I like it. Elite tycoons want into my bank account. Their wives and daughters want into my pants. They’ll all do anything for a piece of the enigma—until a crack in the castle is too huge for anyone to ignore. What they all don’t know is that I’m thrilled about the fissure. Their fascination with the scandal means nobody will look at the bigger secret of the Stone family. I’m safe.
Until Claire Montgomery walks through my doors.
Her honesty, her bravery, her humor…they pull me in, a prism against the gray walls of my tower. I’m captivated. For the very first time, I long to shed the enigma. To share my secret. But what the hell will that get me? Even if she fits the slipper I offer…I’m no Prince Charming.

Hi there. I’m Angel: book lover, hopeless romantic, pop culture geek, shoe addict, coffee-aholic, and occasional vinophile, too.

I’ve been hooked on books since I was a kid but it all got worse in my twenties, when I discovered romances—-the hotter, the better. Growing up in Southern California, with lots of surfer-type manliness surrounded me, certainly didn’t help to assuage the need for reading about delicious alpha guys and the women who adore them. When I learned I had a knack for telling these stories too, I guess you could say I was doomed, though my path toward erotic romance novelist took a few detours via a concert-reviewing gig for my college newspaper (free show tickets…backstage passes…that was sort of a no-brainer), artist interviews for a Beverly Hills dance music mag, and a very, very bad try at a Young Adult novel (don’t ask; it’s not pretty).

These days, I still live in California, and have found an amazing alpha guy of my own who was brave enough to marry me. We live on a street that looks like Brigadoon, with our beautiful daughter and a crazy dog. I have the best life ever, and never forget to thank the Big Guy Upstairs for it, either.

Blurb Lux: Beginnings~
Obsidian  There's an alien next door. And with his looming height and eerie green eyes, he's hot...until he opens his mouth. He's infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, he lights me up with a big fat bulls-eye. Turns out he has a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal his abilities and the only way I’m getting out of this alive is by sticking close to him until my alien mojo fades. If I don’t kill him first, that is.

Onyx  Daemon’s determined to prove what he feels for me is more than a product of our bizarro alien connection. So I’ve sworn him off, even though he’s running more hot than cold these days. But we’ve got bigger problems. I’ve seen someone who shouldn’t be alive. And I have to tell Daemon, even though I know he’s never going to stop searching until he gets the truth. What happened to his brother? Who betrayed him? And what does the DOD want from them—from me?

My Review

Aidan ran from New Orleans at the age of 20, his life was broken and beaten and he needed something new. So, he joined the military. Now fifteen years later he returns home a success and finds that some desires never die, no matter the distance or the time.

In February Lover Aidan returns home to New Orleans as a promise to his mother, with the sole intention of leaving after a week, but when he learns of his mother's health problems he vows to stay for the remainder of the month to help take care of her. Aidan's decision to stay was based on more than his mother's health problems, seeing Stacey again brought back all the desires from his past.

And now Aidan is determined to have Stacey as his lover for the entire month, determined to show her that he is indeed all grown up.

February Lover was definitely an explosive, steamy read that left my kindle sizzling. Though February Lover was short it was full of emotion and was a wild ride. The characters were easy to relate to and easy to fall for, or swoon over. And Aidan was definitely hot and made this a swoon worthy read.

February Lover was a fun, quick read, just right for a pick me up. My only complaint is that I wish it were longer. I would really love to get to know these characters in a longer book.

About the Author~
As a teenager, I would hide in my room to read my favorite romance novels when I was supposed to be doing my homework. I hope, these days, that my parents think it was worth it.

I am the mother of three adorable boys and I am fortunate to be married to my best friend. We live in northern New Jersey and try not to freeze too badly during the winter months.

I am in love with science fiction, fantasy, and the paranormal and try to use all of these elements in my writing. I've been told I'm a little bloodthirsty so I hope that when you read my work you'll enjoy the action packed ride that always ends in romance. I love to write series because I love to see characters develop over time and it always makes me happy to see my favorite characters make guest appearances in other books.

In my world anything is possible, anything can happen, and you should suspect that it will.

I'd love to hear from you!

Cheers!!

Declaration by Rachel Wade {Blog Tour: Review & Giveaway}

Preservation Series by Rachael Wade
Genres: Contemporary, New Adult, Romance

Synopsis book 1:
Fear is sabotage’s sweetest weapon.

Kate has no time for meaningless romantic charades, and definitely no time for hot college professors who are full of themselves and smitten with her. Constantly battling eviction notices, tuition she can’t afford, and a sick, dependent mother, the last thing she needs is to be distracted with someone else’s complicated baggage.

When she stumbles into Ryan Campbell’s creative writing class, he is only “Mr. Campbell” to her, until Ryan finds himself captivated by her writing and she is forced to face their mutual attraction. His cocky know-it-all syndrome is enough to send her running in the other direction, and his posse of female admirers and playboy reputation are enough to squander any odds in her favor.

But underneath Ryan’s abrasive facade is something to behold, and she can’t stay away for long. Ryan and Kate must decide who they’re willing to become and fight against their former selves if they want to make things work. That’s if academia, vicious vixens, old skeletons, and their own mastery at self-destruction don’t pummel their efforts first.

Synopsis book 2:
A sequel to the Amazon bestselling romance, Preservation, told from Ryan’s point of view.

Old Habits Die Hard.

Ryan Campbell is not only leaving his title of Professor behind to move on to bigger and better things at Simon and Warden Publishing, he’s also become Seattle’s rising literary star. Sitting on the overwhelming cusp of newfound fame, he learns soon enough that being popular has its downside.

Attracted to the buzz surrounding his new career, former lovers begin to creep back into his life, and potential ones emerge with enticing advances. While he works to juggle reserved, yet stressful, wedding plans with Kate and his new public image, he has enough to manage without worrying about Carter and Dean—Kate’s loveable albeit eccentric friends—and their latest shenanigans.

Surrounded by a lifestyle that includes temptation at every turn, Ryan finds himself immersed in a world full of scandal and lies, where his oldest weaknesses thrive and his ghosts return to haunt him. Questioning whether his life with Kate is his best path, he must discover if he’s still capable of being the man he aspired to be when she first became his, or if happily ever after is only an illusion.

Synopsis book 3:
Featuring characters from Love and Relativity.

Carter Montgomery spent most of his life blending in, and he liked it that way. It was always better to be seen, not heard. And while a theatric streak and friendly demeanor might have fooled most people, he knew the truth—he was the shy one. The quiet kid most people forgot about. Some might have considered that a bad thing, but those people all wanted to be in the spotlight.

The only place Carter didn’t mind attention was on stage, with The Hellions. Once content in his comfort zone in Seattle, Washington, he only knew three things: confrontation was to be avoided, keeping the peace was priority, and the moment he lost Kate Parker to Professor Ryan Campbell, he had no clue what to do with his life. Playing gigs, working at Pike Place Market, and watching BBC after the love of his life sailed off into the sunset just wasn’t going to cut it anymore.

Desperate to escape his rut, he takes a cue from Kate and chooses a random place to relocate—a small island across the country, where no one knows his name and memories of unrequited love aren’t found at every turn. Just when he thinks he’s found the perfect place to unwind and sink back into the shadows, in bursts Whitney Sinclair, a saucy firecracker who loves life and refuses to settle for second best. Full of contagious energy, she dares him to be brave, convincing him that it might finally be time to tell the world what he wants.

It might be time to make a declaration.

My Review

Carter needs a change. All the reasons he's stayed in Seattle don't fly anymore. Everyone moved on, found new things while Carter was still just Carter. Desperate for a change he runs to a small ocean side town in Florida. He doesn't know what he's going to do once he get's there, but he knows that he is determined to leave his baggage in his past, especially one Kate Parker.

After having his heart stomped on again and again in the first two books of the Preservation Series it was about dang time that the sweet, best friend, Carter got his own story! From the beginning of this series I was rooting for Carter. That secret deep down side of me wanted him to be with Kate. Oh yes Ryan is hotter than hell, but Carter was the best friend. The guy that was always there to pick up the pieces, the guy that Kate didn't know she needed. The guy I secretly rooted for while I prayed that Kate and Ryan worked it out. Luckily for us Rachel Wade knows better than me and broke Carter's heart and sent him fleeing to Florida, where I can honestly say I fell even more in love with Carter.

In Declaration Carter no longer has his friends to lean on to help him figure out the path his life should lead. It's just him and never ending beaches. But Carter is smart and he quickly falls in step with the sunny life of Florida. Things fell in place pretty quickly for Carter, friends, a job, and a place to stay, but no matter how good things seemed to be on the surface; Carter still felt like he had a hole in his heart.

Kate messed him up pretty freaking good. But Kate wasn't his only problem and it took him moving to Florida to really figure it out. Being in Florida not only brought more sun to Carter's world, it shined a light on the truth of what Carter was running from. In Declaration we see Carter struggle with who he was, who his thinks he is and who he wants to be. We see him grow from the boy next door, to a man ready to take charge of his life. Sure it's not all sunshine and beaches, but Carter is Carter and his disposition is amazing.

I was in love with Carter before I read Declaration but now I see Carter in an entirely different light. I realized that in the first two books we really got a small side of one well rounded and incredibly adorable and sexy Carter. In Declaration we see all of Carter and if you don't fall even more in love with him in this book then there is something seriously wrong with you.

Declaration was a sweet read that drew me in like a rainbow after it rains. I settled in, got nice and cozy and wanted to live there. Rachel Wade did such an amazing job of giving Carter and all the characters in this story a voice. Each character was full of life. It was like talking with my friends as I read this book. Words flowed easily, the story flowed easily everything was just perfect. I could devour a book by Rachel Wade everyday. That's how easy it is to get into her stories. These stories are written with heart and soul, Rachel Wade is on those pages and I gladly soaked it in.

My Review

In one night Kimi's world is changed forever. Taken from the life she has always known and thrust into a world where fantasy is indeed reality, Kimi and her friends must learn to navigate the treacherous lands or lose their lives.

On the night that Kimi is taken she discovers that there is more to this world then she ever thought possible. She learns that there are in fact other planet's and that aliens really do exist. With this startling discovery is also the truth of who she is. At first Kimi wants to fight it, but with the help of an alien she begins to accept who she is, but before she can fully grasp her new life she is kidnapped and thrust onto an unknown world. Being on a strange planet isn't enough torture for the stranger who kidnaps her, oh no, he has much deeper and more ruthless plans for her. He's going to use her and her true self to seek vengeance for a wrong done to him long ago. He awakens what lives inside Kimi and leaves her to not only navigate a strange planet and the dangers that lurk there, but also the dangers that lurk within her.

Soul of a Warrior is indeed a complex story, we have the story of Kimi and her friends and the story of those that swear to save her, Denna Holm tells these stories side by side with grace and power. She seamlessly blends the world that we know, the truths that we know with the incredible world of fantasy, bringing to life worlds that can only exist in our dreams. There isn't much I can say about the actual story as much of it is a spoiler, but I can say that I take my hat off to Denna Holm and her spin on both the vampire and werewolf! Soul of a Warrior was definitely a refreshing read!

When I started Soul of a Warrior I was quickly absorbed in the tale and became desperate to unravel the mystery of each of the characters. Each character was crafted with the story in mind and I fell in love with each of them, including the side characters and the enemies. Denna Holm did a great job breathing life into her characters making them well rounded and believable. She humanized the bad guy and made me see him from a different perspective. Suddenly I found myself wanting mercy for this guy. Yes he is wicked and yes he has done wrong, did do wrong, but he is also a man hurting, a man in pain. For that I prayed for mercy.

Soul of a Warrior is a story that will take you on a journey to other worlds and bring you creatures that will make you quiver with fear and delight. It fulfills the thirst you have for love, adventure, magic, humor, mystery and supernatural, all in one book. And if you really like the color purple, there is a special place just for you in this book ;) when you read it all will be known. So, I say take an adventure and walk on the side of the unknown and read Soul of a Warrior

My Review

There really isn't much I can say about this book that isn't a spoiler in one way or another. But here is what I can tell you about the story (besides that it's freaking awesome), at the end of Never Let You Fall we know Skye sneaks off to face the new king on her own. Leaving Xander to fear for her life. Xander doesn't give up easily and gives chase as soon as he realizes what danger she's put herself in... and danger is exactly what she get's. But it is not just the danger of losing her life and her kingdom that she has to fight, she also has to fight the danger of losing her heart.

From the second I picked up Never Let You Go I was sucked in to the story of Xander and Skye, instantly pissed at Skye for her decision to leave without her guardian... and within the first few pages I was yelling at my kindle telling Skye that she was being stupid and that she needed to turn her butt around and go back to the safe arms of Xander. But I know she won't do that, it would be too easy and Skye is stubborn. Oh sure she leaves for the right reasons, to protect the ones she loves, but that doesn't make me want to smack her any less. And when her life is put in danger I quickly reminded Skye that she should have listened to me. (But you know, it's a book and she can't hear me so... it was basically me just yelling at my kindle... A LOT!)

By the end of the first ten chapters I was questioning everything that I thought I knew about the story. Like Skye I was confused and wondering which side was truly right and which side I should trust. Luckily we figure that out, but not before wicked wreaks havoc on Skye, her heart and mine. Never Let You Go was one huge emotional mountain after another. Every time I thought my heart was going to get a break, Michele G. Miller went and did something to trip me up. No matter how much I sat staring at my kindle bleary eyed, crying no, no, no, no, like a broken record I loved this story. I needed this story. I needed the characters. Skye's independence and stubbornness. Xander's dependability and pure intent. While I also needed the thirst to hate. I needed to be able to take my anger out on someone in this book and Michele G. Miller definitely gave me that. In fact she gave me quite a few people to hate. Although one I love to hate. I'm sure a lot of people love him, but as a dedicated fan of a certain hot and sexy guardian I cannot betray my heart. Oh sure he is fine and all, strong, loyal, trustworthy.... and all that but he is no XANDER plain and simple. (I know you are all looking at my like I've lost it, but trust me when you read this book it will all fall into place and you will realize the love hate thing).

During the crazy ride of Never Let You Go we learn quite a bit about our wonderful characters. Wonderful things... things that I definitely didn't expect (yea that happens a lot), we see each of the characters grow and face struggles and trials that test who they are and shape who they will forever become. Shocking truths are revealed, secrets are kept, and decisions are made that will impact the very future of every person in Tyalbrook. I still can't get over how topsy turvy this story was. Michele G. Miller really did keep me and my heart guessing until the very end.

Never Let You Go was and simply is beautiful! It made me question everything I thought I wanted, I knew. It had me tied in knots, it made me cry... A LOT, it made me yell, hate, love, and it left me in total shock! There was no way that I saw that ending coming, no freaking way! The road that this story is headed down is going to be a very twisted and bumpy one indeed. I for one am going to buy a ticket, buckle up and just hang on for the wild ride. Won't you join me in this adventure???

“When everything is crazy, when people are dying, prophecies are being told, friends are becoming enemies and enemies are becoming friends…this is our beacon.” (kindle, loc 4047).

*Sigh* Yea that pretty much sums up this quote for me. I love this moment... and the moment that happens immediately before it, but I can't show you that one. But I think this is a nice tease, don't you want to know what this quote is in reference to? It will knock your socks off!

~Excerpt~

We landed on a hard stretch of land with a thump, a squish, a crack, a growl, and a hard exhale. Most of that I think was Dom who landed first and under the rest of us, but I’m sure we each contributed. He’s not a half bad cushion. True to our training we landed and rolled, jumping up into fighting form immediately. With no one else around, we launched on one another. The snarling and the sounds of punches landing echoed back to us, bouncing off the walls that encircled us that we had yet to notice. We were warriors born, bred and trained. We were also brothers, so the fighting went on until fewer of us could stand than not. Though most of us were down, physically drained from the exchanges, our mouths were still in prime fighting form and the verbal bickering and bashing continued long after the beat downs had stopped.

Ass, true to his nature, started in on Rigor with a relentless verbal assault blaming him for everything and anything that came to mind. Probably, a few that didn’t. Rigor, unlike himself, seemed to take it all and not say much. He was as aware as the rest of us that our current situation was largely his fault. Only when Ass stopped to take a breath did Rigor interject.

“You know, you didn’t have to come.”

“As if I had a fucking choice ya big blow hard. ‘Remember the pact, remember the pact…’ you were like a damn Edrin bird anytime we came to high house. ‘Remember the pact and Kyrna don’t shift.’”

Lone, Dom and I looked at each other. I could tell we were all thinking Ass had done a fair impression, though of Rigor or the Edrin we weren’t going to offer opinion. Deno was notoriously quiet. Killer was too. Looking at him, he was fighting his own battle half in and half out of a shift. Good thing to know that we hadn’t lost that ability on our way here. Where here was remained a mystery.

Only after we had wound out of our want to continue the bashing did the situation really sink in. Sitting amongst my brothers in a place that I had yet to notice, I was overcome with the foreign sense of being lost.

I had seen her. The one match to my immortal soul had been revealed and there was nothing I could do about it. I wonder what she is. She was obviously not like my brothers and I. I wonder if, like me, she saw my other form and knew in that moment she had gained and lost it all by my choice without her getting so much as a vote. Her tear had tracked from luminous, but frightened eyes so wide I think I could have seen the flecks in the amber if I’d had a moment longer to look. Her voice was a symphony in the only word she uttered, ‘No.’

I found myself imagining all that might have been, now that it would never be, and for a moment, second guessing my allegiance to my brothers. If I had known the cost first, would I have jumped? Of course I would have.
