Character Time #3: Graylee Perez

For the last month I have been thinking about whom to write my next character time about, many names coming to mind, but I noticed that all of them were male. And considering the fact that my first two Character Times were male I decided I needed to bring some female strength to the party. So that got me thinking of all the books I've read, which female characters stood out the most? Considering the fact that I am not usually a big fan of female characters because I often find that they are weak, fake, and overdramatic I found that my list of favorite female characters to be rather short.  But those on the list definitely earned their right the be there, and right at the top of that list was Graylee Perez from the Spellbound series by Nikki Jefford.

Now Graylee is anything but weak, fake and overdramatic; if anything she is fierce, loyal, trustworthy, vulnerable, modest and trusting to a fault. You see when I first discovered Gray, in Entangled she was shy, reserved and seriously lacking in the confidence department. Though she was beautiful, she often played second fiddle to her over bearing, ever popular and overdramatic twin sister Charlene. But this didn’t bother her; you see Gray doesn’t like the lime light; in fact all she wants to do is be a normal girl. She gladly allows her sister to take all the glory at school and in the coven thinking that her sister will always be there for her, trusting in their bond as twins.

But as was discovered in Entangled and Duplicity, there is only so far one can push Graylee before she begins to push back. And when she does she sheds the shy, reserved and modest little witch for one who is fierce, strong and a force to be reckoned with. It is for all the reasons above that I would want Graylee at my back if ever in a magical confrontation. You see I know that Gray would always have my back, that she would stand with me against my greatest foes, and after the fight we could chill out, watch movies together and just be normal.

Gray reminds me exactly why witches should never be trifled with!

  2. I love this series! It has everything, lots of magic, a little romance, mystery, humor and action! The hot warlock Raj in the story plays for a little eye candy! I am currently dying to read Enchantment the third and final installment in the series. Ooo, I love Hermione, she will eventually be featured on Character Time as she also rocks with her brainy ways!! Literally the best witch ever!

I haven't read the Iron Fey series, but I have heard a lot about it. I take it you recommend it then?
