Top Ten Tuesday: Books I want to See Made into Movies

Top Ten Tuesday is an incredibly awesome meme created by The Broke and the Bookish where bloggers and readers share their top ten's about all things bookish! Don't be shy......join the fun!

I am rather excited for this week's topic......Top Ten Tuesday REWIND! Since I am relatively new to the whole blogging scene there is a plethora of Top Ten Tuesday's that I never got to participate in, and luckily for me today I get to pick any topic!! Yay!!

So for my REWIND post I have decided to do the Top Ten Books I want to see Made into Movies!!

Now for anyone who knows me, you will know that I am not a huge fan of book to movie adaptations. In fact there are very few that I actually like, that being said, it doesn't mean that I don't want to see my favorite books being made into movies, I just want them to be done RIGHT! So, here you have, my TTT Books I want to see made into Movies......Not in order!!

Valhalla Rising (Dirk Pitt, #16)

1. Valhalla Rising by Clive Cussler: If you have ever read a Dirk Pitt novel, then you know why I chose this book. Simply put it is the best! It has everything, action, suspense, romance, car chases and hilarious antics by two crazy dudes!

2. Now for this one I want them all....a 3 for 1 deal! I love witches and I really don't think they get enough air time and I love what Nikki Jefford does with the witch in the Spellbound series! These are some seriously bad-a** witches that I would be afraid to tango with!

3. Of course this series made my list! Come on did you for a second think that it wouldn't? This series gives me everything.....crazy world building, incredible action and fighting scenes, a touch of romance, humor, and of course magic! Got. To. Have. IT!

4. This is another series that absolutely had to be on my list! From the moment I picked this series up I have envisioned it as a movie! As I read it, it actually plays out in my mind like a video game/movie! This is an action packed series from start to finish, and really calls to all the action and adrenaline junkies everywhere!

5. This also has to be on my list! Eleven  is amazingly vivid and creepy! It would make either a great movie or a great show as you are lead through the hunt for a serial killer!

6. I absolutely love the Nathan McBride series, they are full of action, and suspense, and always deliver a heart pumping thrill ride! Nathan McBride is awesome, he is literally all the bad-a** that you can handle, plus he comes with secrets!!

7. Really I would be happy with any of the Eve Duncan  novels being made into a movie! I love the thrill of trying to catch Bonnie's killer, the incredible tension and chemistry between Eve and Joe and the great suspense that these novels deliver! This would also make an incredible TV show!

8. Okay, I think this one is actually being made into a movie, but that is beside the point! That just means that someone recognized the awesomeness that was in its pages! I absolutely love Nick Gautier and think that his twisted, messed up story needs to be on the big screen for the whole world to see. But of course I want the entire series!!!

9. Of course I want to see this series made into a movie as well. I want to see Kane, Allie, and Zeke on the big screen in all their badness! This book would make for a great action packed movie, plus it is a new spin on the vampire, and face it, after Twilight the world needs it!

Under the Never Sky (Under the Never Sky, #1)

10. This book blew me away from the minute I picked it up, and I would love to see the world that Veronica Rossi built in living color! Plus who wouldn't want to see Perry and Roar in full, vivid color???

Well there you have it, the books I want to see turned into movies! Of course there are more, but I am resisting the urge to add them all to my list! But then it wouldn't be Top TEN if I did. So I will end this post before I break and add them all!!

So, what do you think? What books do you want to see made into movies?

  1. I have always wanted to read Exiled. Under the Never Sky is a good pick! No need to fear though because it seems to me that more and more movies these days are adaptations from books.

    1. Well Jelly, now is the perfect time to read Exiled! It is currently free on Amazon and Kobo! So if you don't already own it, now is your chance! I agree that more and more books are being made into movies, it seems every time I turn around I hear of another book being made into a movie!

  2. The only book I have read on your list is The Immortal Rules. I wasn't really into it. But, I'm eager to check out the others on your list! I love finding new books.

I really think Hollywood is doing a good job of buying up the rights to books and making them into films lately. The work is already done. Books written. Ready made fans. It's like printing your own money! I wish they'd do it more though. Someone needs to realize what a money machine it really is.

    1. Mary,

I totally agree with you, Hollywood is buying the rights to books like crazy. I think they have finally realized how many people would watch the movie just because it is based on their favorite book! A pretty large untapped market!

  3. I've only read one of the books on your list, but I totally agree with you -- if Hollywood got it right all the time, I'd want to see all of my favorite books made into movies. It's just that so often, they get it so, so wrong.

    1. You're right they get it wrong way more than they get it right. But imagine how much business they could get if they got it right every time? They would have amazing success!

  5. Wow, I haven't read most of the books you listed - though I have heard good things about M.R. Merrick's books, and the Chronicles of Nick. I need to check those out!

Totally agree that Under the Never Sky needs to be made into a movie, though. That would be epic.
