Books, Books, Books

We all love books. After all that is why we became book bloggers right? I know that is why I became a book blogger, to spread my love of books. And boy are there a ton of books. There are so many books out there that there is no possible way we will ever read them all. Before I became a book blogger I thought that I had plenty of books, I know I had enough to keep me placated. But then I discovered this wonderful world of book blogging.

And the books just came pouring in. And no I don't mean from authors, publishers or anything like that. I mean that I found them. I found more books, tons of books, ALL the books! And I wanted them all. So naturally I downloaded as many as I could and naturally I have yet to read half of them. But I want more. Seriously, I can't get enough, it is a serious addiction; one that I am all too happy to have.

But this brings me to a book question I have been asking myself. Where do you get your books? Do you buy them? Request them? Are they Author Requests? Blog Tours? Beg for them? (not really.....but do you?) Do you get them from Netgalley, Edelweiss, Publishers? Seriously, where do you get them all?

Since becoming a blogger, I have find myself with way more books than I could ever imagine reading, from blog tours, author requests and my personal requests from Netgalley. (And this doesn't even include the books that I buy, like every day!) I have yet to venture into the realm of asking for books from publishers or authors, but the thought has more than crossed my mind. But when I think about it I ask myself, Do I have time to read all these books? And that keeps me going my typical route of blog tours, author requests, purchasing my books and my few Netgalley requests.

That and the fact that I am scared to death of the idea of asking for books!!! I admit it I am a chicken...cluck, cluck! My feathers are showing and all that! But seriously....How do you get over this fear and reach out to publishers and authors alike?

I have read posts about this very thing, but I still question whether or not I should do it. So, what do you think about the idea of asking for books? Do you do it? If so, how did you get over that initial fear?

  1. Lol! I haven't trued asking for books from publishers for the exact same reason. I just either download then, get them from blog tours or request them on Ng/Edelweiss.
