Cami Wimberley has a plan, and that plan includes no room for boys—especially the big time party animal, Hunter Wilder, no matter how handsome and charismatic he is. She’s beautiful, a senior, extremely talented, gets good grades, and is working her way toward her dream college to be a musical theater major. Everything is perfect.
Hunter Wilder does not want a girlfriend—that would complicate his life way too much right now. He especially doesn’t want this girl, Miss-Goody-Two-Shoes, so how come he can’t keep his eyes off her? He tries to keep her at arms length, but fate seems to keep pushing them together. Before long, it’s obvious to everyone they’re crushing on each other.
As sparks begin to fly, Hunter finds himself sinking deeper and deeper into hot water. Soon he’s scrambling to keep Cami from discovering his dark secret—one that can destroy their entire relationship.
Okay I'm going to keep this review kind of short. Really I think I can sum it up in a few words.... 21 Jump Street! Oh yea baby I said it, Crush is the perfect 21 Jump Street written dream. And everything about this book screams perfect story! I fell in love hook, line and sinker from the minute I picked up my book. I was sold and falling fast. I fell for everything. Lacey Weatherford made me love her characters so deep and so hard. I hurt for them, I yelled at them, I wanted to smack them when they weren't listening or when they were about to do something very, very stupid. Her characters were real. I believed them, I felt for them and imagined them very vividly in my mind.
But it wasn't just that characters that had me falling for this story. They were great yes, both Hunter.... *shiver* and Cami were incredible characters. People I can easily see strolling the local High School. But the story of Crush is what took the cake for me. Lacey Weatherford did a phenomenal job of leading us to the story. With every hint and clue she dropped I scooped them up like a kid lost, looking for a way home. I ate it up, all of it. And the whole time I was left thinking, wondering, questioning... and I loved every freaking minute of it. It's not everyday that I can't predict the ending of a book or the main parts of the book, but Lacey Weatherford did that with Crush. She left me guessing, until the final pieces fell. Granted I did guess some of the ending, but I was definitely pleasantly surprised by it all.
Crush is a great story that will lead you on that perfect quest of cat and mouse. You being the cat and the truth of the story being the mouse. It will leave you wanting more, make you satisfied and with a smile on your face. You will swoon and you will laugh, a lot, either way you need Crush, pronto!
