I had goosebumps the whole time while reading your words. Someone very close to me is battling with depression as well and I've seen what it can do to a person and their life. She has sought help and is definitely getting better, but I know how hard it was for her. I am so glad you found your passion for writing again and that it has helped you come back to life. I can't wait for Sacred Cities!smiling_inahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12164346705071427911noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6601094637733946381.post-42280698882540630632014-07-31T13:05:50.802-06:002014-07-31T13:05:50.802-06:00Nikki! I wish we could have had more time to hang out, but it was a busy week!

The dark places are scary, and it is strange to be in one. I cannot even imagine you being anything but fun and friendly with a big smile. It does hit on such a deep level, and I think it's hard for others to understand exactly what you're going through. I know I never understood it until I was there.

Your confession makes me smile. :) <-- See. It was great sitting next to you and getting to meet the people that came with you. Cherry and I had a blast. I'm glad you made that request. I truly hope we get to meet again. I may have to just make another trip down there. M.R. It is a scary thing, especially if you don't understand the seriousness of the issue, which was the case for me. I'm so glad to have you as a reader, and although things aren't moving as quickly as I would like, there is more coming. I'm honored to have you as a reader, and I hope I can keep you turning the pages with Sacred Cities. Thank you for all your support! M.R. I can’t begin to put it into words.

I’ve been in these dark places before, which always seems weird for friendly, funny, good-natured folks like us, but I think we get hit by life on a deeply personal level, whether high or low. Being sensitivitie is what makes us able to put so much emotion into our books.

I am crazy about you and your wife, Cherry! I have a confession to make. At the beginning of the year I asked Ali to seat me at the table next to yours at the Emerald City Author Event. And Ali, being Miss Awesome, granted my request. ;)

I hope we will meet again soon. In the meantime, I’ve got me some Matthew Merrick reading to do!

Big X’s & O’s,
Nikki
Nikki Jeffordhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06425343380649714766noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6601094637733946381.post-5241682377533461442014-07-28T12:51:33.735-06:002014-07-28T12:51:33.735-06:00Thank you so much Mary.
